A trip to the eye doctor. . .

I took Lydia in to have her eyes dilated and examined. It has been a year since she first got glasses. Well the weakness in her left eye is still quite strong so she will be doing eye patch therapy 2-4 hrs. 4 days a week. While wearing the patch she needs to do close up activities. This should be an exciting adventure. Hoping us detecting early is a good thing!

Oh and Eli had an appt. this week too. He will go in for dilation and probably have glasses before the end of February. Hope they have some cute durable glasses!

Dominic is always climbing things. Today he saw his sister stand on the sit 'n spin. Guess what he was doing soon after?

Minnesota Winter

This weekend Charlie took Lydia and Eli to the annual fire dept. fishing contest. Only a few fish caught by anyone but the kids had lots of fun. Lydia liked "skating" around and seeing some of her friends. Eli liked sticking the tip of his pole down in the water. No wonder he didn't catch any fish! The kids did each win a fishing pole so now they are set for summer. :)

A bit about me ...

Last night I savored the wonderful taste of chili and cornbread muffins. Such comfort after a long week of sick kids. Due to pre-holiday sick bugs, the holidays and two weeks of either daycare closing due to them being sick or my own three under the weather this week, I haven't had a full three day/week at work in a month. I enjoy my job and with our big 8 week course starting in February, I have lots to do. I am also missing the routine from before the holidays. Eventually things will get back to normal, but for now I will resort to enjoying wonderful soups to warm my soul!

Any recipes to share?

Where does the time go?

Wow christmas and New Years passed in a blur of family, food, and presents. We are truly blessed to have so much.

Photos tell a bit about the holidays...

Oh and Charlie took me skiing for the first time since my accident. I was very scared, but made it a couple hours on the bunny hill and two of the larger runs. Will be sore tomorrow and learned it takes lots of leg muscles to snow plow and not just go straight down the hill. Now I am ready to help Eli learn to ski. :)
