Back from Plant MIA?

Probably not back to posting everyday, but just in for a quick visit to update with the latest...

I would say spring, almost summer, is upon us but it is currently pouring outside and pretty cold for Memorial weekend.  At least it's not snowing!  I remember trying to camp back in the day with my aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins when we actually had snow on Memorial weekend!

Today is the last day of school for John Ireland where I used to teach and you are probably thinking why does she care, but strangely this week I have thought lots about the last week of school - the excitement, sadness of sending the kids to the next grade, 6th grade graduation, field day and the list goes on.  It will also be strange for the first time in 23 years to not have a summer break.  Sure I worked through the summer in college, but it sure will be different!  Glad I only work 3 days a week and can enjoy 4 summer days a week with the kids :)  They love being outside which is where we spend most of our evenings after daycare.  Lydia is getting the hang of peddling her bike and Eli loves to follow his sister with his push cart.  I have a couple fun projects on my to-do list to make outdoor time even more enjoyable - transportable sandbox and a chalk board, freezy pop holders.  Wonder when they will get done??

Our other frequent past time this spring has been going out to the farm for a quick meal with Charlie and then usually one of the kids stays out for rides in the tractor as he hauls tons of loads of manure to the fields.  This spring has been so wet that it has taken a long time, but Lydia and Eli both love sitting in the tractor!  The big excitement for Lydia today while at the farm was learning to pee like a farmer outside since she is pretty much potty trained.  Makes a mom proud :) j/k  Eli's big development was folding his hands to pray with the family the other day.  Baby November is growing fast a 16 weeks already, but is either going to be shy or always on the go because at my prenatal appointment today the doctor had a hard time keeping it from moving to get a heart rate.

Well, Eli is still napping so I should try to catch a nap before he wakes up...
