St.Paddy's Day

The naughty leprechauns visited our house this year. They turned everything upside down and left us gold (chocolate) coins. I wonder what they will do next year?

Craft Night

Last night I had three fabulous friends join me for some crafting. It was great fun chatting, snacking, and see everyone else's projects from scrapbooking to cute clothes.

I found a tutorial on making St. Patrick's day shirts at http://threesisterz.blogspot.com. Took the time to make one for each of the kids and then made matching hair clips for Lydia. Aren't they cute!

Thanks ladies for joining me. If anyone is interested in coming next month, let me know and I will add you to the email list. I try to do a scrapbooking/crafting night once a month :)

MRI Results

Heard from my physician yesterday in a voicemail that there was quite a bit of damage and that I should have his nurse schedule an appointment with an arthroscopic surgeon. Luckily they got me in right away. My appointment with the surgeon revealed "lots" of damage! I have a 2 degree sprain (equal to a few fibers left) in my MCL, a 3 degree sprain (meaning ruptured) ACL, a tear in my meniscus, and a fracture in the top of my tibia. WOW! That is a mouthful!

The surgeon wants me to get my knee to bend before dong surgery so I went to physical therapy right away to get excises for bending my knee and to get fitted of a new brace. This brace is bigger in the knee, but it is wonderful to be able to bend it!

Thanks for all you thoughts and prayers as I go through all this :)

Getting Hair Cuts

We all went in for haircuts. Lydia decided she just wanted to watch, but everyone else got a trim. Eli screamed and wiggled through most of it. Lydia entertained everyone and used the bathroom twice :)

As Lent Begins...

Lydia will be able to add one cotton ball each day to the lamb to help us count the 40 days of Lent. Idea from Waltzing Matilda blog.
Sorry about the sideways picture! I took it horizontal but it didn't upload that way :)

Just hanging out

Lydia loves, Caillou, a cartoon about a little 4 year old boy who loves to skate and ski. She decided to watch while sitting in the sled one day.

Luck of the Irish

LOI was lots of fun Saturday night! It is always great seeing everyone from JI, bidding on things in the silent auction, enjoying the great food, and then seeing what you ended up getting in the auction. To add to the excitement I had just about everyone ask what happen since I am hobbling around on crutches. It was really funny when a mother and son both asked me the same question "was it the beginning of the day or end?" I wish I could say it was after a fun day on the slopes. Maybe next year!!

My donated item didn't go over as well as I had hoped, but it was fun putting everything together and giving to a great cause!!

Life turned upside down!

Do you ever feel like life is turned upside down? I sit writing after a tiring day of doing nothing really, but when you are walking on one leg with crutches everything takes longer. Even the simple things like putting a diaper on are difficult because I can't bend to get down on the floor, or while doing dishes it starts to get painful standing on one leg.

I must share what a huge help Charlie has been as I can't drive, carry the kids, put my own socks on, and the list could go on. I don't share these thoughts for sympathy, but so that when all of this is said and done with I can read over this and realize how blessed I am with my family and general health. It sure makes you appreciate the simple things in life.

I go in Tues. afternoon for my MRI and pray that it won't be anything major. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers :)

Yost Update

Eli loves taking baths and gets giddy just seeing us get the bath ready, but last night he surprised us by "washing" his own hair. He sticks his cute chubby fingers up by his hair and wiggles them around.

Lydia showed me a new skill today - zipping her own coat. Just walked over and said "Watch". How they grow up!!

Immobilized

Not enjoying being immobilized...

For the past two days I have been experiencing painful headaches which have caused me to sleep a lot. Thankfully a visit to the doctor dispeled my fear that the pain is related to the accident and that it is just a sinus infection. Even so my doc. is pretty sure that we should do an MRI and see what the damage is like. I will keep everyone posted...

After starting my meds. I am feeling better, but still haven't figured out where the camera is hiding. Oops!! Visual Memory Pictures will have to do - Charlie has taken over my role as daycare transporter and taken kids to and from daycare. Last night they stopped at DQ for a treat which Lydia was totally excited about even after Charlie informed her that the ice cream was for mommy. Her response was "No it is for me, I'm mommy!" Then this morning she told Charlie, "Daddy I don't want to give you kisses, they're for mommy" but in the end did get her ritual kiss and hug at Maja's door.

Health Report on Mr. Ear Infection Man - Eli is on round 3 of antibiotics for this same infection so please pray that this nips it in the butt and that we won't have to visit the ENT.
