Everyday is backwards day in Lydia's world. After a couple night of her taking her PJs off we decided to put them on with zipper up the back. She thinks it is great!! She also may be seen wearing a newborn onesie and diaper, 12 month frog costume or gymnastics leotard. Don't be surprised if you stop by!

Eli is constantly on the go getting into, onto, or standing next to things. There is usually a smile on his face too. This week we know that he is finally comfortable with daycare because he smiles at Maja. YEA!!

To celebrate Auntie Jen, Betsy, and Amanda's birthday's we went bowling at the WowZone. Lydia loved the shoes, picking up the ball and then pushing it down the ramp. She did great and Eli loved crawling all over the place eating pizza. Cousins Jaylin and Kyla had lots of fun too!

Ready, Set, Go! How cool is it that kids can use a ramp?

Our little girl is a gymnast. Once a week we go to Mankato for lessons. She loves it and shows us all week the things she learns. Here is another of her wonderful fashion statements. :)

Picture Update

Last week in preparation for an event that our church community hosted for the wonderful Gleisner family, the kids and I joined Charlie in the field to gather corn stocks for corn shocks. Adam Gleisner has battled cancer for the last couple years and has shown us all what it means to have faith. He, his wife JoAnna and two children have given our community so much that we wanted to show them just how much they are loved. 50 some golfers participated in a best ball tournament, we hosted Adam's Apple Festival with yummy caramel apples, cider, cookies, cupcakes, and other treats as well as games. Then we completed the evening with a spaghetti dinner. It was a beautiful day!

As you can see from the pictures we all enjoyed our corn cutting adventure.

In the past when we have gotten corn for a shock it has taken forever with a hand machete, but Charlie brought out the big chain saw to cut down enough for 16 shocks. My friend Heather H. envisioned a beautifully decorated festival area so we did our best to make it special with corn shocks, straw bales, pumpkins, and a bonfire. She and all the other volunteers made the festival so much fun!!

Children snug in bed on a cool Fall night...

and a rare chance to spend time with my hubby. Upon Charlie's arrival home, I requested that we decorate one of our windows with a Jack'o lantern face. I saw the idea in a magazine last fall and didn't get around to making it then. Decided that we have no excuse this year since the garage is full of cardboard. Everyone should drive by at night and check out the smiling face. Charlie and I have also been enjoyed cheering for our Monday Night football picks. I choose the Dolphins because who likes the Patriots!! Go Team! And then we actually cooked a meal together in what feels like forever, but has really been 8 or 9 months. We used to cook together all the time in Saint Charles, but just haven't had the chance since moving back. It was fun and now supper is ready for tomorrow night! Yay!

So obviously we are still kicking here in Saint Peter, but if you haven't heard lots has changed...
We moved into town at the beginning of Sept. and enjoy town living with lots of walks to ECFE, the library, and the store. We are even lucky enough to be 2 blocks from our great friends the Johnsons and enjoy walking together with them. Our neighbors have a little girl who is 4 and a 6 month old little boy. I can tell that we are becoming fast friends as we already chat about kids and happenings in town. Our move was just in the nick of time as my parent's place has once again been flooded. It is strange being on the other side of the river this time! But thank goodness, I don't think I could get up and walk out every morning to get the kids to daycare and myself to work by 7:15 a.m. 3 days a week. My job with the College of Vet Medicine at New Sweden Dairy is going great!! I really enjoy the variety, the people, and the cows :) Lydia and Eli are adjusting to daycare and take turns crying each morning when dropped off, but I know that all is well and they are just showing their love. Charlie and the cows are doing well with record yields so far and better milk prices.

My absence from blogging has no real reason because I think daily about something to write, so it must just be finding the time that is the problem. As I sign off, Charlie is now snoring away too so I guess the pillows are calling me as well. Sorry for lack of photos! I will try for next time!
