Weekend Blessings...

This weekend we celebrated the baptism of Thomas Wayne. He was praising God with his voice after receiving the holy water :) We are so honored to be his God Parents!

On Sunday we enjoyed our Church's Fall Fiesta. We worked in the Toy Box selling used toys which Kyla and Lydia enjoyed playing with and eat dinner with Charlie's family. The dinner was great as always!! We also had to stop for a photo opportunity as you can see - our "pumpkins" enjoyed playing by the pumpkins.

Go Colts!!

This past weekend we had a great time in the Cities with Carissa and Ike. Friday evening Charlie and I went to a concert while a college roommate watched Lydia. Thanks Daisy!! Then Saturday the guys went fishing and us ladies did some wedding planning. Yes that's right, if you haven't heard, Ike proposed last weekend to Carissa while fishing. We also enjoyed game night with some of Carissa's Vet School friends. On Sunday we went to church, made a quick run to David's Bridal (okay so it wasn't quick, but it was productive) and then we watched the Vikings get beat by the Colts. YEAH!! As you can see by the pictures, there were mixed feelings about the win for the colts.
Update on numbness in my hand - I went to the chiropractor yesterday and after talking about how I sleep or if I bumped my wrist, we came to the conclusion that me sleeping with Lydia cradled in my left arm has caused compression on the nerve in my wrist which is creating the numb sensation. Hopefully with changing how I sleep the numbness will go away.

What a week!! We have had lots of happenings…

Lydia is now crawling, standing and waving. The video clip shows her pulling up on the crib so that she is standing. Good thing we lowered the crib because if we hadn’t she would probably be jumping out. This was also Lydia’s first full week at daycare. Laura says that she likes to be held a lot and that she hasn’t been eating a whole lot while there.

Now on to Mommy! I started my fourth year of kindergarten. No, not a as student, but teaching. I will have a busy year with 19 students and an aide to assist in the mornings. I also have a couple students with special needs, which is something new for me to be working with the public school for specialist times. Even as a teacher the learning never stops. Also, this week I had a little medical scare. On Thurs. morning I woke with numbness in my left thumb and index fingers. I figured that it was just asleep from laying on it wrong, but as Friday afternoon went by with even more numbness in my shoulder and head I decided to call the 24 hour nurse line. They recommended that I go the ER. The doctor examined my hand and shoulders. He concluded that I probably have a pinched nerve in my neck, but just to be safe they would do a CT scan. That came back normal, so I was discharged with orders to take ibuprofen and use heat or ice on my neck. I have to admit that it is not better, but hopefully it will go away by Tues. otherwise I will be in for another visit with my family practitioner.

Oh and don’t forget Daddy! He has been under the weather too. Not real sure what he has but he’s been experiencing chills, fever, and achiness. Hopefully we will all get to feeling better soon.
