Baptised in Water

This past weekend Lydia and her cousin, Kyla, were baptised. The girls did great during the service and didn't even cry when the holy water was poured over their heads. We enjoyed a pleasant celebration with family and friends following the service.

On Tuesday we headed to Sears for our first portrait studio experience. We learned a few things: don't take too many outfits, have clothes that are fitting, and be prepared for it to take a couple of hours. Though Lydia was tired, we got a few good shots of her in the baptism gown that my mom made and in a couple spring outfits.

On Thursday morning Lydia came with me to school so that my class could see her again. I have never seen a crowd gather so quickly before :).

Developmental Milestones - Lydia is now rolling from her back to the side and then to her tummy. She also is holding her head up a lot higher while on her tummy and does the Superwoman or airplane pose. I discovered the other day that she is really ticklish under her chin because she was just a giggling away. Her hands are in her mouth more and more, but they are also grabbing on to things and bring the toy to her mouth. She is also focusing on the things around her a lot and is getting to be so alert.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there! My day was very enjoyable. I received a very cute homemade card from Lydia, spent the day with Charlie's family, and then went to my Grandma Joan's in the evening. This past week we were able to get the last of the grape vines in the ground. Even Lydia got in on the action and planted her first vine. On Thurs. Lydia turned 3 months old! Wow can you believe that she is that old already? It doesn't seem like it has been that long. How time flies when you are having fun! Lydia got spend friday afternoon with Grandma LuAnn and Grandpa Brad and then on saturday she enjoyed a visit from Grandma Linda. Oh, how she is loved by many!!

I am still learning how to use our new digital camera and tried out the video mode to see how it works. Below is a clip of Lydia laying on the floor. Enjoy my singing, her rolling to one side, and lots of her sucking on her hands. Sorry it isn't something more interesting, but I thought is would be fun to put out for you to view. Sometimes when we are playing on the floor she is all smiles and then starts talking or cooing back, but on this particular night she was not cooperating.

One week under my belt..

Well, I made it through the first week back at work with out too many tears. Lydia was all smiles in the morning when going to Amy's on the first day and still smiling when I picked her up. She has even gotten used to drinking from the bottle during the day, yeah! I am enjoying being back again even though I do miss interacting and spending time with Lydia during the day. We do lots of cuddling and kissing at night :)

The other good news is that my grandpa and aunt are both doing better. Deann is out of the hospital and happy to be home instead of dealing with grouchy nurses. Grandpa has had a pacemaker put in and has been moved back home to recover in a swing bed there instead of in the Cities. We are so happy that he is doing better and can't wait to see him again.

Besides getting back to work this week our family began another adventure together. My parents along with Charlie and me have decided to put in a vineyard on my parent's property. The vines were picked up on Thrus. and the first ones were planted today. Carissa and Ike came down for the day to help layout the vineyard, dig holes, plant, and water. Lydia even helped Grandma put together the grow tubes in the garage/refuge from the wind. Let's just say that we are excited about the potential, but at this moment we are all just exhausted!!
