Did You Feel That??

How fast the days, weeks, and months fly by! It feels like just yesterday we found out we were pregnant. On Tues. Oct. 30 we will be 25 weeks or more than 6 months along and only have 105 days left till the due date (no I didn’t count out the days; there is a website that tells you J).

Charlie was able to feel the baby for the first time last week. It is soooo wonderful for us to be experiencing each movement together. We have also been organizing the nursery, finding baby bedding, and even getting materials for the build-in cubbies for the wall. The prep work always takes the longest. Last weekend with a nice long break for MEA; Charlie, my dad, and me bought the supplies and as the day got later and later dad turned to me and said “When are you due again?” I replied “Feb. 12” and he responded “Oh, good we don’t have to finish this today J”. It is amazing how a small project can turn into such a time consuming thing.

At our last prenatal appointment the doctor said things are progressing nicely and we heard the heart beat again. It is getting slower as the baby matures to full development, but is still at about 140 beats per minute. Charlie and I still think it is truly the coolest sound.

Charlie has been keeping himself busy on the farm and has been enjoying canning beets and apples this fall. We may be crazy, but hope to make homemade baby food next fall now that we know what we are doing with about 60 pints of beets and 25 pints of applesauce under our belts. I also really want to can dill pickles because they are the best thing. I have a friend who traded me a quart of homemade dill pickles for beets. Her husband said he wouldn’t stand in the way of a pregnant woman’s cravings. Oh, how I love dill pickles!!

I have definitely been busy with my kindergarten class this year. It is amazing how much more there is to do with double the students. They are also a very energetic group which is fun, but exhausting. Outside of the classroom I have been helping out with high school swim meets, going to a great yoga class, and getting our scrapbook updated.

Charlie and I are both looking forward to the Thanksgiving holiday at the end of November and hope to see many of you between then and now.
