Two weeks ago we confirmed the exciting news that we are pregnant! We are now about 6 weeks along!! My HCG and progesterone levels look good for early pregnancy and we had an ultrasound on June 18th. It is amazing that at only 6 weeks the baby has a heartbeat! The baby's heartbeat is 104 bpm and it is 2 mm long from head to rump. One of my baby books said that they don't measure from head to feet because their legs are often bent. For being so tiny it was amazing to hear the heartbeat. The pictures on the left are from our ultrasound appointment. The top photo is 3-D and the tiny peanut shape in the middle is the baby. On the bottom photo the little circle in the kidney bean shape is the baby. Probably lots of you already know what ultrasounds look like, but it's the teacher in me that needs to explain. Our due date is February 12th, which was actually Charlie's due date. He came 3 days early on Feb. 9th, so he is hoping the baby will come on his birthday. What a present that would be!!
We feel so blessed to have this tiny miracle growing inside of me. Everyday we remember the baby that we lost back in January and know that she is waiting for us in heaven. Because of all of our experiences and struggles with pregnancy, doubt and fear are inevitable but through it all we now have a better understanding that God is the pilot and we are just the copilots in life. Everything is for His purpose and plan. We thank Him for all that He has given us.
